This story mainly has a Man VS. Society and Man VS. Man conflict. It is Man VS. Society because Ella faces many problems in trying to defy the current ways of life in her society. It has Man VS. Man because she has problems with the prince and not wanting to marry him because he is so boring. She also has lots of problems with her Step-Evils, because there is a mutual hatred between them. Another problem is between Madame Bisset and Ella. Madame Bisset doesn't like Ella because she feels that Ella is not proper and prim enough, and Ella hates Madame because she feels that she is mean and TOO prim and proper. This story also has a little bit of Man VS. Self because Ella has fights with herself about when she will tell the prince that she doesn't want to marry him.
